  1) sales representative

Sales jobs allow fora great deal of discretionary time and effort on the part of the salesrepresentatives - especially when compared with managerial, manufacturing, andservice jobs. Most sales representatives work independently and outside theimmediate presence of their sales managers. Therefore, some form of goals needsto be in place ASMOTIVEAND GUIDEtheir performance. Sales personnel arenot the only professionals with performance goals or quotas. Health careprofessionals operating in clinics have daily, weekly, and monthly goals interms of patient visits. Service personnel are assigned a number of servicecalls they MUSTPERFORM during a set time period.Production workers in manufacturing have output goals. So, why are achievingsales goals or quotas such a big deal? The answer to this question can be foundby examining how a firm's other departments are affected by how well thecompany's salespeople achieve their performance goals. The success of thebusiness HINGESON the successful sales of its products and services. Consider all theplanning, the financial, production and marketing efforts that go into(describing how PRODUCING WHAT the sales force sells. Everyonedepends on the sales force to sell the company's products and services and theyeagerly anticipate knowing things are going.

  2) Shanghai western music

Away from the rumble of Shanghai’s highways and the cacophony of the shopping districts, stroll down side streets filled with rows of tall brick houses. In the early evening or on a weekend morning, you’ll hear the sound of classical music drifting from a piano, played by a 10-year old or a grandmother in her seventies. Wander down another alley toward drab high-rises and you’ll hear Beethoven or Mozart flowing from a violin, or perhaps a cello, accordion or flute. In China, classical music is booming as mightily as the 1812 Overture. It’s fortissimo in Shanghai, home to China’s oldest orchestra, forte in Beijing and other lively cities, and on a crescendo in farther-flung areas. Commanding Y100-200 ($12.50-$25) per hour, private music teachers in Shanghai can readily earn more than five times the average per capita monthly income.

  1) Gore Nobel prize

This year’s NobelPeace Prize justly rewards the thousands of scientists of the United NationsClimate Change Panel (the IPCC). These scientists are engaged in excellent, painstaking work that establishes exactly what the world should expect fromclimate change.

The other awardwinner, former US Vice President Al Gore, has spent much more time telling uswhat to fear. While the IPCC’s estimates and conclusions are grounded incareful study, Gore doesn’t seem to be similarly restrained.Gore toldthe world in his Academy Award-winning movie (recently labeled “one-sided” andcontaining “scientific errors” by a British judge) to expect 20-foot sea-levelrises over this century. He ignores the findings of his Nobel co-winners, theIPCC, who conclude that sea levels will rise between only a half-foot and twofeet over this century, with their best expectation being about one foot. That’s similar to what the world experienced over the past 150 years. Likewise,Gore agonizes over the accelerated melting of ice in Greenland and what itmeans for the planet, but overlooks the IPCC’s conclusion that, if sustained, the current rate of melting would add just three inches to the sea level riseby the end of the century. Gore also takes no notice of research showing thatGreenland’s temperatures were higher in 1941 than they are today.

Gore also frets aboutthe future of polar bears. He claims they are drowning as their icy habitatdisappears. However, the only scientific study showing any such thing indicatesthat four polar bears drowned because of a storm. The politician-turned-moviemaker loses sleep over a predicted rise in heat-related deaths. There’s anotherside of the story that’s inconvenient to mention: rising temperatures willreduce the number of cold spells, which are a much bigger killer than heat. Thebest study shows that by 2050, heat will claim 400,000 more lives, but 1.8million fewer will die because of cold. Indeed, according to the first completesurvey of the economic effects of climate change for the world, global warmingwill actually save lives.

Al Gore, exaggeratedthe sea-level rise and over emphasized the accelerated melting of ice with nonotice of research, while IPCC, Gore’s co-winner, concluded that sea-level riseand Greenland melting ice would add just three inches, and the risingtemperatures will reduce the number of cold spells, which are a much biggerkiller than heat.
