PTE学术英语考试,英文名称Pearson Test of English Academic(PTE Academic),也被译为培生英语考试，是由培生教育集团(Pearson)开发并得到GMAC(Graduate ManagementAdmissionCouncil)认可的一款新的基于电脑的国际学术英语考试。它为那些需要学术英语的机构例如大学，高等学府以及政府部门提供了一个真实的衡量考生能力的工具。为需要通过英语考试获得赴英语国家学习机会的非英语国家的学生提供了一种新的选择。

这道题一般来说阅读量在100 words左右，篇幅短，但是平均算下来允许的时间非常短!一般来说只能花一分半钟在一道fill in the blanks。虽然词汇量对阅读题来说是非常重要的，但是PTE阅读技巧也是必不可少的!!
第一个技巧就是不要从头读到尾!!正确的方式是直接去看blank。
第二个技巧就是去分析词性。
这里以一道例题来讲解：
Jean Piaget, the pioneering Swiss philosopher and psychologist, spent much of his professional life listening to children, watching children and 1_______ over the reports of researchers around the world who were doing the same. He found, to put it most 2_______ that children don’t think like grownups. After thousands of interactions with young people who are barely old enough to talk, Piaget began to 3_______ that behind their cute and seemingly illogical utterances were thoughts and processes that had their own kind of order and their own special logic.

给大家一分钟，迅速做一下题目先~
以第2空为例，这里to put it most_____ 很多人会分析错词性。To put it 的意思是去描述。通常的用法有 to put it bluntly/ simply/ briefly/ mildly etc. (直接地说/简单地说/简短地说/委婉地说)所以2这里需要填一个副词(adverb). 选项里只有succinctly一个副词，所以即使不认识这个词，也可以选定。
再以第4空为例，a_____ 空前面有个量词，这里肯定是个名词。而且，这个名词一定不是个元音开头的词，因为元音开头的名词要用an作量词。所以可以很快确定答案是discovery而不是invention.
阅读技巧
这里以第6空为例。remarkably_____ research career, remarkably 是个副词，research career是名词，这里肯定缺个形容词。如果不是考察单词用法和固定搭配，那一定是考察上下文理解。我时常跟我的学生强调一个观点，任何fill in the blanks题都是有根据的，不会无缘无故让考生来猜!考生学会去分析，去思考，那才是真正在阅读能力方面有进步!
research career后面有个修饰从句：that spanned nearly 75 years from his first scientific publication at age 10 to work still in progress when he died at 84. 这个句子的内容就是线索!!这个人的研究生涯从10岁一直横跨到84岁，一直有进展。所以可以排除conclusive(决定性的)!!意思和从句里的内容不符。而是选prolific(作品很多的)。
应该怎么从词汇方面积累
第1空后面有个over，所以这个空是在考察考生对词汇的固定搭配的积累。很多我的学生猜scrutinizing, 而这个词是个及物动词，不需要任何介词。pore over sth (仔细阅读sth)。
第3空，后面跟了that引导的从句，此处肯定是动词。很多同学容易选accuse，首先是对accuse这个单词的用法、固定搭配不熟。accuse首先没有+ that 引导从句这种用法，一般来说是accuse sb of sth这样用。而suspect有+ that 引导从句的用法。
总结一下，词汇的积累不仅仅要知道单词的意思，还要积累单词的用法和固定搭配。而阅读技巧也是做阅读题必不可少的，二者结合就可以毁天灭地了~
